At the beginning of the year, Oliver Schmidt had an unusual experience for his job: The chief investment strategist at Metzler Asset Management regularly speaks with companies and investors from all over the world. Germany and the relatively small German stock market by international standards do not normally play a role. This time, in the run-up to the federal election, things were different.
